Gift cards sell out too fast 🔥#58

I have attempted to buy several gift cards exactly on the minute they are released. I have timed each attempt and the cards are always sold out in under a second. This means that the majority of members are giving their data to you for absolutely nothing in return. There has to be a point when we ask you, what do we get out of this? Where is our end of the bargain?

To add to Jack’s post - clearly there are some clever people scripting this to add and checkout in under a second. Please add a CAPCHA to the checkout to stop this.

James is spot on. I was hesitant to say there might be some kind of bot or script involved, but it sounds very likely. An extra layer of security is desperately needed.

Actually its quite an easy thing to automate as well which is why you desparately need the CAPCHA.

I agree please add this. It’s basically impossible to get the gift cards. The whole point is earning from our data, so why is there only a limited number of people who can earn?

I have come on here for exactly the same reason! Getting hold of gift cards is impossible they need a better system ! Im surprised more people havent complained. I hardly use the browser anymore when it became apparent that you dont get rewarded its just unredeemable points you ‘earn’!

Can I PLEASE suggest to Gener8 to run the gift cards in another way… Why is it ‘first come first serve’ when it’s actually quite easy for people to snipe using scripts to get them first?

I think a better way would be for users to choose which gift cards they want once, and run a lottery each time. If someone wins a certain gift card, their points are deducted and they have a 1 week cool down so they can’t win that gift card again for a week. That gives everyone a MUCH higher chance of actually being able to use their points and it’s also much more fair.

Can Gener8 really look at the analytics and truthfully say that gift cards are being claimed fairly?

It’s been a year ago since this issue was raised, nothing have been done about it. 230 Amazon gift cards disappears in 2 seconds. That is unforgivable!

I agree, it’s absolutely ridiculous. How can they sell out when I pushed the claim button the second it went live?! Seems like a con to me.

Add capcha to stop people buying all the giftcards with bots. You’ve had years to implement
